Google+

I have had a Goggle+ account for some time now and have not really gotten into it very much.  So much media bombardment for a guy that has a bit of AD- what were we talking about?

Anyway, I just got done with a great presentation by my new friend Kate Buck Jr on how to use it and the potential for it.  I know I am going to start using it more.

If you want an invitation, send me an email G+@dirklinderman.com and ask for it, or comment below and I will send it out.

Cheers

P.S. if you want to read some more about Google + here’s a link to a blog post by my Buddy Ryan: http://drivingtraffic.com/how-im-using-google-plus/

Golf is a Metaphor

A number of years ago, I came to a realization that most every time I golf, I discover something about my life and that it is generally universal.  Well, since the weather has gotten nice and I have been doing some golfing (fortunately one of my Nephews is around, so I get to spend some quality time with him as well) I decided that I should share some of the thoughts I have about it and see if you have anything to add or other points of view.  It is in now way going to be exhaustive, and I will just start with a thought or two and add them as I think about them.

The first and biggest one, to my way of thinking, is that nobody is good at it.  Sure, there are great golfers and even some amazing ones, but they all have “off days”  They shoot WAY over par, they flub shots.  In life, we all have those days and I don’t care who you are, you have your own set of challenges and days that you wish you didn’t have to have gone through.

Along those lines, is another point that came to me sometime back.  That is that when you get ready to tee off, there a million things that you need to think about.  Stance, aim, grip, club face angle, posture, backswing, follow through, tee hight….. to name just a few.  But the minute you start your backswing, you need to trust that you have made the right decisions and follow through.  Because no matter how big of a mistake you think you have made, it is going to be much worse if you try to make a correction mid way through your swing.  You get another chance to fix it on your next shot, but that is another thought.  In life, we have a very similar experience.  Do all of the research and planning you can, but once you have made a decision, trust that you have made the right decision and “follow through”.  It may be the wrong decision, but you have to trust yourself and go with it so that you can learn and do better the next time.

I hope you find this as interesting as I do.  Let me know what you think by commenting below and if you like it, share.

Cheers

A great point

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.” – C. S. Lewis

Cool Online Image Editor

So recently I had to figure out how to re-size an animated .gif file.  I messed about and tried to friends and relatives to help.  They were great, but either could not get the correct size to look right, or they could not keep the animation (which was one of the big problems I had).  After spending a lot of wasted time, I did a different search and found a great free, online editor that would let me edit the .gif file, and resize it but keep the animation.  So I decided to share as a thank you to the editing Gods and to them for the help and if anyone is looking for a quick way to take care of something like that, here it is: lunapic.com

It is not limited to .gif files, and you can either upload the image from your local computer, or even get it be enteriung the url of the image.

I hope it helps,

Enjoy!
